Aug 28, 2010 : Georgetown SPCA(Adoption Fair) (10:30 am - 12:30 pm)
Come out to our Adoption Day at Concord Pet Foods & Supplies!! All dog and cat adoptions through the Delaware SPCA include neutering, microchipping, a free wellness exam through a participating veterinarian and initial distemper and rabies shots. Cats are given a feline leukemia test and dogs over six months of age are given a heartworm test prior to adoption. In exception situations, typically due to the animal's age or health, initial vaccinations may have to be given by your veterinarian at your cost. Spaying or neutering your pet through a veterinarian can cost hundreds of dollars. So not only are you giving a deserving animal a loving home and getting neutering and microchipping services at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere - you are also supporting the Delaware SPCA and its mission of preventing cruelty to our four-legged friends. www.flickr.com Did you know that at any given time there may be more than fifty animals available for adoption at your local shelter? These pets come from many different backgrounds but they all have one thing in common - they all need someone to take them home. Visit:www.delspca.org/adoptions

Keep trash in tightly closed trash cans so as not to attract stray or wild animals. Vaccinate all dogs and cats against rabies on a regular basis-as prescribed by your veterinarian. This is the law. * Effective Sept. 1, 2007 the State of Delaware has a new surcharge for all Rabies Vaccinations. We are required to send $3.00 for every vaccination given to a low cost spay/neuter fund. In six months these funds will support our low cost spay neuter program for low income residents and feral cats. Attached to this email is our new cost for vaccinations for S/N clients and Animal Assessments. Vaccination prices will remain the same for wellness clinics.

Dec 18, 2010 : Comp Animals(Hockessin) (11:00 am - 2:00 pm)
Come out to our Adoption Day at Concord Pet Foods & Supplies!! CompAnimals has gone on to rescue hundreds of unwanted pets. They have expanded to help all animals in need but specialize in the "unadoptables": cats & dogs missing hair, animals needing surgery prior to adoption, missing limbs or eyes, sick kittens or puppies that don't have a chance at the shelter, any animal that just needs a little extra TLC before finding that forever home. Of course we won't turn away a perfectly healthy dog or cat who, through no fault of his own has found himself on death row. And we still have a soft spot for that graying muzzle... CompAnimals places these animals in a foster home situation with a real-life family where they are socialized and evaluated for the home that best fits them. Many live with other dogs, cats and children. Visit: www.companimals.org
